Pedalling to Parliament - "Pedal for the Planet" Rally Wednesday September 15th, 2010 from 12-8pm Parliament Hill, Later at Rainbow Bistro Come join us in pedal for the planet. From noon until 1pm we will rally on Parliament Hill. Join the rally to call for action on climate change. Then at 1pm the climate cycling tour starts on Parliament Hill. Join the search for Canada's missing climate action plan. The ride is a virtual world tour from embassy to embassy, searching for clues for climate action. We will relay our findings to members of the Environment Committee who are debating Bill C-311, the Copenhagen climate bill. Kanata All-Candidates Forum on Sustainability Tuesday, September 21st, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Holy Trinity Catholic High School, 180 Katimavik Road Elections for the City Council of Ottawa are coming up in October. KEN (Kanata environmental network) is hosting an important event in which the local candidates will debate the issue of sustainability in Kanata. Candidates from Kanata North and South will respond to questions posed by a number of organizations on the broad topic of sustainability. CPAWS-OV guided hike Sunday September 26th, 2010 @ 10am Meet in the Beaver Pond Trail parking lot near the intersection of Moodie Drive and West Hunt Club (P8 on the NCC Trail Map) Please join us for a guided hike along the Jack Pine Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, and Lime Kiln Trail in the Stony Swamp Conservation Area of the NCC Greenbelt. We will hike through some interesting wetlands, mature forests, and an alvar. There are also remains of a 19th century lime kiln! Come out to see these interesting areas and to hear about CPAWS-OV's efforts to protect the beautiful, and ecologically significant, NCC Greenbelt.
