Ecology Ottawa launches Community Leadership Awards Nominations close November 2

Our
city is blessed with scores of smart, energetic people working hard to
protect our local environment. From the key movers in Ottawa’s
environment groups, to the leaders of green initiatives in schools,
workplaces, and neighbourhoods, and to the many visionary advocates of
sustainable thinking and living, we are surrounded by inspiring
examples of people taking action for a greener city.
Ecology Ottawa will recognize some of these outstanding leaders with the Ecology Ottawa Community Leadership Awards. The awards will be presented at our annual gala dinner on Thursday, November 12th. Who receives the awards is up to you!
Nominations are open in the following categories:
Enviro-Champion of the Year:
an individual who has made an outstanding contribution (working alone
or as part of a group) to local environmental protection and/or
innovative environmental action in 2009.
Enviro-Champion High School of the Year: an Ottawa high school
that has made an outstanding effort in2009 to reduce its eco-footprint
while engaging students, staff, and teachers in environmental awareness
and action.
