I am Maria Paula Choque, I am originally from Colombia, with a background in International Business Management and a diploma in Logistics Management. I am currently pursuing a Master of Design at Carleton University, where I focus on participatory and feminist design approaches that integrate business strategies to support sustainable, community-led solutions.
My journey has taken me from leading youth initiatives in Latin America to working with organizations in Canada such as Youth Council Ottawa, Apathy is Boring, and Incubator13. In these roles, I have developed programs that support BIPOC and underrepresented youth, promote civic engagement, and foster social innovation.
I am passionate about creating spaces where diverse voices are included in shaping meaningful change. Through my work, I strive to connect communities with institutions and to use design as a tool for empowerment and systemic transformation.
