What better way to celebrate International Forest Day than by kicking off the BIGGEST tree giveaway in Ecology Ottawa’s history!

We are thrilled to announce that our tree giveaway program is back and better than ever. This essential program helps the community address a diversity of important environmental issues, including mitigating climate change, rebuilding our tree canopy, providing habitat for wildlife, creating shade for residents, and improving air, soil, and water quality in the city.

Last year, we were blown away by the unprecedented demand for trees. We know you’re eager to continue planting Ottawa’s future tree canopy and we want to help by providing access to 20,000 free seedlings throughout the year. This will include 22 species of native coniferous and deciduous trees—including more fruit, nut, berry, and sap-bearing trees than ever to help address food security in the region. Full species list coming soon!

Once again, we are proud to be teaming up with some amazing community partners to co-host tree giveaways beginning in late April. Our Tree Team is hard at work planning giveaways across the city and you’ll start to see events popping up on our calendar soon!
