Matt is a lawyer with the federal Department of Justice and currently advises the Department of Fisheries and Oceans on the implementation and accommodation of Indigenous fishing rights. Matt has a keen interest in urban and environmental issues, and has volunteered with the Sierra Legal Defence Fund, the Green Party, and most recently the City of Ottawa’s Climate Change and Resiliency team. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Matt was lucky enough to live in a number of great Canadian cities - Montreal, Halifax, Vancouver, and Halifax – before settling in Ottawa in 2008.
