Ecology Ottawa’s All-Candidates Environmental Survey is FINALLY HERE!
On October 26, Ottawans will elect a new mayor and City Council. This election will shape our city's environment for years to come.
Ecology Ottawa's All-Candidates Environmental Survey helps voters understand where candidates stand on the environment, at a moment when it has never mattered more. We have sent every candidate across all 24 wards, and mayoral candidates, a survey about key environmental issues in Ottawa. This is a comprehensive, multi-issue survey that digs deep on environmental commitments with those vying for leadership.
About the Survey
All candidates are being asked to respond to 10 questions on critical environmental issues, including transit and sustainable transportation, Ottawa's urban boundary, climate resilience, tree canopy, waste and the circular economy, emissions reduction under Energy Evolution, the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, biodiversity protection, and community participation in ecological decision-making.
Candidates are invited to share their position, priorities, and plans on each issue in their own words, and they have until Monday, September 21 to complete the survey.

Once responses are in, we'll post them on our website, organized by ward, we encourage residents to read candidates' full answers, rather than skimming, to get the clearest picture of where each candidate really stands.

- ASK your candidates our questions directly. If you see candidates door-knocking, at events, or holding town halls, ask them about their commitment to Ottawa's environment, and let them know you'll be watching for their survey response.
