Our Strategic Plan, "Growing Movement, Rising Action," charts our course for the years 2025 to 2027. The plan describes our vision, our mission, and our theory of change; how we understand the landscape ahead and our political future; and our guiding principles, core values, and our role in the Ottawa environmental ecosystem.
As the heartbeat of the ecological movement in Ottawa, we commit in our Plan to being educator, mobilizer, advocate, collaborator, watchdog, and thoughtful agitator. These roles will play out across our program streams—Climate, Nature, and People—each of which responds to an ecological crisis.
Some highlights:
- Movement-building and Mobilizing: To accelerate local environmental action and impact systems change, we’ll work to grow our movement to 50,000 people—but inclusively, so our movement reflects all of Ottawa.
- Collaboration: We’ll continue our work with community groups, environmental organizations, City staff, and elected officials to build power and create impact.
- Political action: We’ve already mobilized around the provincial and federal elections and are gradually preparing for next year’s municipal election. We’ll continue our political work in the meantime too.
- Culture of Care: We’ll create a team culture of care, well-being, and fulfillment of potential—including our full ecosystem of staff, board, volunteers, and supporters.
- Centring Equity: we’ll embed justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in every part of our organization, community, and programs and learn deeply about, and engage meaningfully in, Truth and Reconciliation.
