By receiving my free sapling from Ecology Ottawa’s Trees for Today program
- I agree to follow all the steps outlined in Ecology Ottawa’s planting and care instructions within 3 weeks of receiving the sapling
On property I have permission to plant on, in an appropriate location where it will thrive long-term
- I agree to maintain this sapling following Ecology Ottawa’s planting and care instructions
Watering the sapling 2-4 times per week (weather dependent) from May to November for at least the first 2 years following planting, while the roots are getting established
Mulching the ground around the sapling, following Ecology Ottawa’s recommended best-practices.
- I agree to respond to (or appropriately take action on) any future correspondence from Ecology Ottawa relative to my tree
Including responding to our brief survey at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after the giveaway, and in the case of challenging weather events
In Addition, I acknowledge and agree that my participation in the Trees for Today program is VOLUNTARY. I further acknowledge and agree that, by participating in the Trees for Today program, I am IRREVOCABLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY RELEASING AND FOREVER DISCHARGING ECOLOGY OTTAWA, its employees, agents, and representatives, including but not limited to partnering community associations and their volunteers, agents and representatives, from any and all claims, complaints, causes of action, demands, damages, obligations, liabilities, losses, and expenses, whether known or unknown, actual or potential, which I may have, may have had, or may in the future obtain, arising out of or relating to any acts, omissions, agreements, or events relating in any manner to my participation in the Trees for Today program.
I will at all times, DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND SAVE HARMLESS ECOLOGY OTTAWA FROM AND AGAINST ALL ACTIONS, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, suits or other proceedings by whomsoever brought, which are in any manner based upon, or occasioned by any injury to persons, damage to or loss or destruction of property, economic loss or infringement of rights caused by, or arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the Trees for Today program, or any negligence or wilful misconduct on my part, arising from my participation in the Trees for Today program.

En recevant mon jeune arbre gratuit dans le cadre du programme Des Arbres pour Aujourd’hui d'Ecologie Ottawa
- J'accepte de suivre toutes les étapes décrites dans les instructions de plantation et d'entretien d'Écologie Ottawa dans les trois semaines suivant la réception du jeune arbre
Sur un terrain où j'ai l'autorisation de planter, à un endroit approprié où la plante pourra s'épanouir durablement
- J'accepte de m'occuper de ce jeune arbre en suivant les consignes de plantation et d'entretien d'Écologie Ottawa
Arrosez le jeune arbre 2 à 4 fois par semaine (en fonction des conditions météorologiques) de mai à novembre pendant au moins les deux premières années suivant la plantation, le temps que les racines s'enracinent.
Pailler le sol autour du jeune arbre, conformément aux bonnes pratiques recommandées par Écologie Ottawa.
- J'accepte de répondre à toute correspondance d'Ecologie Ottawa concernant mon arbre (ou de prendre les mesures qui s'imposent)
Notamment en répondant à notre brève enquête 3 mois, 6 mois, 1 an et 2 ans après la distribution, ainsi qu'en cas de phénomènes météorologiques difficiles
De plus, je reconnais et j’accepte que ma participation au programme Des arbres pour aujourd'hui soit VOLONTAIRE. Je reconnais et j’accepte également qu’en participant au programme Des arbres pour aujourd'hui, je DÉGAGE IRRÉVOCABLEMENT ET INCONDITIONNELLEMENT, ET DÉCHARGE À JAMAIS ECOLOGIE OTTAWA, ses employés, agents et représentants, y compris, mais sans s’y limiter, les associations communautaires partenaires et leurs bénévoles, agents et représentants, de toute réclamation, plainte, cause d’action, demande, dommage, obligation, responsabilité, perte et dépense, qu’ils soient connus ou inconnus, réels ou potentiels, que je pourrais avoir, avoir eus ou obtenir à l’avenir, découlant de ou liés à tout acte, omission, entente ou événement se rapportant de quelque manière que ce soit à ma participation au programme Des arbres pour aujourd'hui.
Je m’engage à tout moment à DÉFENDRE, INDEMNISER ET DÉGAGER ECOLOGIE OTTAWA DE TOUTE RESPONSABILITÉ À L’ÉGARD DE TOUTES LES ACTIONS, qu’elles soient fondées sur un contrat, en responsabilité civile ou autre, réclamations, demandes, pertes, coûts, dommages-intérêts, poursuites ou autres procédures, quelle qu’en soit l’origine, qui sont de quelque manière que ce soit fondées sur, ou occasionnées par, tout préjudice corporel, tout dommage, toute perte ou toute destruction de biens, toute perte économique ou toute atteinte aux droits causés par, ou découlant directement ou indirectement de ma participation au programme Des arbres pour aujourd'hui, ou toute négligence ou faute intentionnelle de ma part, découlant de ma participation au programme Des arbres pour aujourd'hui.
