The ideas are in, and there are so many good ones.
We asked Ottawa what you'd want your next city council to actually do for the environment. Between July 18 and August 24, through our submission form, our social posts, an evening of online brainstorming together, and conversations at events around the city, 150 ideas came in, and every single one made it into our community community ecological ideas report. Some of you wanted more trees—not just planted, but actually watered and cared for once they're in the ground. Others wanted transit that's fast enough to beat driving, or a real answer on AI data centres, or just a city that keeps its promises on waste. A lot of you were still thinking about the July flooding, and what it would take to be ready next time.
We Asked & You Answered
We didn't filter any of it. Every idea made it into the report, organized by theme, in your own words, including the ones we might not fully agree with. Some of the strongest ideas are now in the running to become part of what we'll ask candidates to commit to: our suggested ecological planks!
What you can do:
- Read the report.
- Help these ideas reach candidate platforms.
- Share it with your friends, neighbours and your candidates.
