This event has already taken place.

Are you a resident of Vanier and would like to plant a tree on private property? Then you have come to the right place!

Ecology Ottawa, in partnership with the Vanier Community Association, will be hosting a Tree Sapling Giveaway on June 6th at the Vanier Hub (271 Marier Ave, Vanier, ON K1L 5P7) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (option available for alternative pick-up day).

As part of our Trees for Today program, we will be offering free 1‑ and 2‑gallon native tree saplings (approximately 2–4 feet tall), along with hands‑on support and long‑term follow‑up to help residents care for their trees so they thrive for decades.

Saplings available for this give-away include:

  • Red Maple
  • Eastern White Cedar
  • Red Cedar
  • Nannyberry
  • Wild Plum

For this June 6th event, we are inviting Vanier residents who would like to plant a tree on private property to register for a free sapling. Resources and materials will be available in both English and French.
