Transit Commission (July 3): The Commission discussed ACCESSIBILITY TO ALL USERS ON TRANSIT SERVICES.
Transportation Committee (July 5): A successful day for Complete Streets! The Transportation Committee voted to REDEVELOP MAIN STREET AS A COMPLETE STREET and approved making the SEGREGATED BIKE LANES ON LAURIER AVENUE A PERMANENT FEATURE.
Transportation Committee (July 10): This was a special meeting to discuss the staff recommendation of the RICHMOND UNDERGROUND as the preferred corridor to extend the LRT westerly.
Environment Committee (July 16): Cancelled yet again.
City Council (July 17): An action packed agenda at the City Council meeting this month saw a huge success for Complete Streets! Main Street was approved for redevelopment into a complete street, with less lanes for cars. Read WHAT YOUR COUNCILLOR HAD TO SAY on making Main Street a Complete Street. The SEGREGATED BIKE LANES ON LAURIER AVENUE will also be made a permanent feature. We sincerely thank all the Councillors who made this possible! A development that promotes INTENSIFICATION IN CHAPEL HILL was approved, as was the CARDINAL CREEK VILLAGE CONCEPT PLAN. THE RICHMOND UNDERGROUND LRT project will be moving forward, after Councillors approved this corridor for the preferred LRT extension. The proposed ATTIKA CONDO DEVELOPMENT near the Parkdale market was also discussed.

Ecology Ottawa delegates on Protecting Ottawans from Idling Pollution
Ottawa City Council's Environment and Climate Change and Emergency Preparedness and Protective Services Committees met today to discuss staff recommendations for amendments to the City's Idling Control By-law.
