2026 All Candidates Environmental Survey Results

The results of Ecology Ottawa's All-Candidate Environmental Survey are FINALLY HERE!

In early September, Ecology Ottawa asked every mayoral and City Council candidate to share their position on 10 key environmental issues facing Ottawa. Scroll down to see how the candidates in your ward responded.

About The Survey

All candidates were asked to respond to 10 questions on critical environmental issues, including transit and sustainable transportation, Ottawa's urban boundary, climate resilience, tree canopy, waste and the circular economy, emissions reduction under Energy Evolution, the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, biodiversity protection, and community participation in ecological decision-making. For the full list of questions and how the survey was conducted, see our survey launch page.

What You Can Do Right Now

  • You can SHARE the results of All-Candidates Survey on the Environment with your neighbours and friends - in person and online.
  • PUSH your candidates to do MORE — and keep asking for the bold environmental ambition we need after election day.
  • Most importantly, get out and VOTE on October 26th, with the environment and climate justice as a top priority.
  • Follow our election updates on social media (@EcologyOttawa) for updates on our election initiative.

Citizens have all the power to determine the outcome of this election, and the future of Ottawa's ecology.

Candidate Responses

Each ward's page is organized by question, with every responding candidate's answer to that question grouped together, so you can easily compare how candidates in your ward answered the same question, one at a time. We encourage residents to read candidates' full answers, rather than skimming, to get the clearest picture of where each candidate really stands.
