Tar Sands, Pipelines in Your Backyard and the Clean Energy Revolution: A conversation with Nobel Peace Laureate Jody Williams. October 28th, 7:00 p.m. at the Mayfair Theatre, Ottawa

Jody Williams, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is headlining a discussion that will include Joanna Kerr, the new Executive Director of Greenpeace Canada appearing in Ottawa for the first time, Julia Sanchez, President-CEO of the Canadian Council for International Co-operation and Tinda Sebe-Sikaneta, local organizer and West Ottawa resident. TransCanada corporation is proposing to build the Energy East pipeline that would drive over a 1 000 000 barrels a day of tar sands oil through the Ottawa area and across the Rideau River. This event will put TransCanada’s plans into a global, continental, national and local context.
