Environment Committee June 16 - A Long Day Ahead

For concerned citizens planning to attend or speak at the Tuesday, June 16 Environment Committee meeting, we're in for a long day.

But don't let that put you off.

This is the ONLY opportunity to address Environment Committee, and through them City Council on how the city will prioritize environmental issues over the next four years.

It's worth investing a few hours!

Here's what the Environment Committee coordinator circulated to people registered to speak (emphasis mine):

Please be advised that there will be a ceremonial event (presentation of the City of Ottawa’s 2015 Environmental Excellence Awards) at the start of the meeting, which we estimate may take approximately 30 minutes. In addition, there will be a scheduled break in the meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to allow for a lunch break, and to allow members of Committee to attend a scheduled event that may also require their presence.

Because of the timing of these events, I regret that I cannot provide anyone with an estimated time frame for when you may be called to speak before the Committee. Should you wish to provide written comment in advance of the meeting, you are welcome to do so; all correspondence will be saved to a folder within an electronic shared drive to which all members of Council and their respective staff have access.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am in the Champlain Room of City Hall.
