Ecology Ottawa Launches Climate Change Advertising Campaign

July 16, 2015, Ottawa – As premiers gather in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to discuss a Canadian Energy Strategy and the country gears up for a federal election, Ecology Ottawa has launched an online advertising campaign calling for action on climate change.Climate Ad - Keep Promises

“We are reaching out to people across the City of Ottawa who care about climate change and asking them to work together to demand action from all levels of government,” said Graham Saul, Executive Director of Ecology Ottawa. “Climate change is an urgent problem, we know what we need to do to, so let’s get it done.”

The advertising campaign will include a series of ads over the next four to six weeks under the overall theme of “Getting It Done” (www.gettingitdone.ca). Two advertisements were released today, one focusing on the importance of keeping our promises when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the other on the benefits associated with the clean energy economy. The online ads will run on a wide range of websites associated with the Google Display Network as well as prominent local news outlets such as Ottawa MetroNews (Torstar) and the Ottawa Citizen (Postmedia). Other forms of advertising will also be used in the coming weeks.Climate Ad - Clean Energy Economy

“Ecology Ottawa normally focuses on local municipal issues, but in order to build a world class city we need our federal government to keep its promises,” said Graham Saul. “If they are not prepared to do that, then it’s time for change.”
