The Tree Ottawa Boothing Team :
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers who can come out to events and help run the Tree Ottawa booth. The Tree Ottawa Boothing team gets sent out to various events to encourage people to sign the tree petition and spread the Tree Ottawa mission. We’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable talking to people, outgoing and enjoy being at all the events Ottawa has to offer. In the past our boothing team has gone to The Dragon Boat Festival, The ByWard Market, Herb Fest, and various other events. No experience or expertise required. If you have time available on weekends or during the day in the week and are a people person this is a great volunteer opportunity for you.
The Tree Ottawa Petitioning Team:
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers who can come out to join our door-door petitioning drive. The petitioning team goes out a few nights a week and has the unique opportunity interact with and engage the people of Ottawa where they live. We’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable talking to people, outgoing and enjoy walking through various neighbourhoods in Ottawa. No experience or expertise required but we’re looking for people who can make a semi-regular commitment to joining the petitioning team. If you have time available on weeknights and are a people person this is a great volunteer opportunity for you.
The Tree Ottawa Data Team:
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers who can join our data team. The Tree Ottawa data team takes all of our petitions and transfers them to an electronic format so that Tree Ottawa can reach out to everyone who signs our petition. We’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable with technology, and either know how to use excel or are willing to learn. No experience or expertise required. Once you know how to enter Tree Ottawa data you can volunteer either in our office or from home making this a great volunteer opportunity for those who can’t make it to our office on a regular basis.
The Tree Ottawa Social Media Team :
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers to help run our facebook page and our instagram account. The Tree Ottawa social media team keeps our multiple social media accounts up and running. We’re looking for volunteers who are good with facebook pages and/or instagram. If you have some spare time, an Internet connection and are good with social media this is the volunteer opportunity for you.

Members of ECCC invited to webinar on incineration
On April 8, we invited members of City Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) to attend a webinar on incineration. This webinar is timely: Council is considering incineration as an option for dealing with Ottawa’s waste, since staff has warned Council that the Trail Road Landfill—which currently receives the majority of Ottawans’ garbage—will fill up soon.
