Tree Ottawa Collaborator, local real estate company Avison Young, to plant 325 trees! And we need to find the land.
As Ottawa is in the wake of the Emerald Ash Borer’s devastation, local organizations, companies, and citizens are standing up to protect the future of our treescape. One local Real Estate company, Avison Young, has decided to be the change they want to see!
On October 15th the staff of Avison and Young with be purchasing and planting 325 trees, and we need the land to plant them on!
If you have ~3 acres or more please email [email protected] and let us know why your land needs to be replanted. The trees will be saplings of coniferous trees (White Pine, White Spruce and Colorado Spruce).We can plant 1 MILLION trees, together!

Members of ECCC invited to webinar on incineration
On April 8, we invited members of City Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) to attend a webinar on incineration. This webinar is timely: Council is considering incineration as an option for dealing with Ottawa’s waste, since staff has warned Council that the Trail Road Landfill—which currently receives the majority of Ottawans’ garbage—will fill up soon.
