Ecology Ottawa is teaming up with Groupe d'Action d'Équiterre en Outaouais, along with the Centre Québécois du Droit de l'Environnement to present Pipelines, pouvoir et démocratie in Gatineau next Wednesday, March 30th at 7PM. It's a movie by director Olivier Asselin, and a National Film Board production, and the showing is at Lucien Brault Campus of Université du Québec en Outaouais (101 St-Jean-Bosco, room A-0200).
The documentary is about how people of Quebec came together and mobilized against a proposed oil port installation in Cacouna for the Energy East project, Québec, and ultimately succeeded in having TransCanada back down.
This film shows the power of people coming together and succeeding against a giant. It serves as a reminder that we can also succeed, here in Ottawa, by coming together to stop the Energy East proposal.
A panel discussion, including director Olivier Asselin, will follow the representation, and Ecology Ottawa's Renewable City organizer, Alex Tétreault, will be present as well.
Ecology Ottawa invites you to the representation. Come join the discussion this Wednesday!
(The movie is only in French.)
