The Tree Ottawa Data Team:
Responsibilities for data volunteer include data entry and upload, as well as screening of our database. The skills required include a basic grasp of Microsoft Excel, good organizational skills, and attention to details. We need data volunteer year round, particularly at our peak season in the summer.
The Tree Ottawa Social Media Team :
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers to help increase our Social Media presence! The Tree Ottawa social media team keeps our multiple social media accounts up and running. We’re looking for volunteers who are good with facebook, twitter and/or instagram. If you have some spare time, an Internet connection and are good with social media this is the volunteer opportunity for you.
The Tree Ottawa Boothing Team :
Tree Ottawa is looking for volunteers who can come out to events and help run the Tree Ottawa booth. The Tree Ottawa Boothing team gets sent out to various events to encourage people to sign the tree petition and spread the Tree Ottawa mission. We’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable talking to people, outgoing and enjoy being at all the events Ottawa has to offer. In the past our boothing team has gone to The Dragon Boat Festival, The ByWard Market, Herb Fest, and various other events. No experience or expertise required. If you have time available on weekends or during the day in the week and are a people person this is a great volunteer opportunity for you.
The Tree Ottawa Petitioning Team:
Tree Ottawa is looking for a group of friendly volunteers to help petition in Ottawa. Petitioning teams are sent out across the city to conduct door to door outreach and spread awareness of Tree Ottawa’s initiatives. We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable talking to people, outgoing and enjoy working in a team environment. No experience or expertise required. If you have time available on weekends or during the evenings in the week and are a people person, this is a great volunteer opportunity for you.

Members of ECCC invited to webinar on incineration
On April 8, we invited members of City Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) to attend a webinar on incineration. This webinar is timely: Council is considering incineration as an option for dealing with Ottawa’s waste, since staff has warned Council that the Trail Road Landfill—which currently receives the majority of Ottawans’ garbage—will fill up soon.
