Only a few weeks to go until EcoFest – Ecology Ottawa’s 10th anniversary celebration! Join us on Thursday, October 12 at the Aberdeen Pavilion in Lansdowne Park for a night of fun, celebration and networking. Tickets are only $35, and you can buy them here.

EcoFest is a celebration of Ottawa’s strong, vibrant and diverse environmental community. Ecology Ottawa has had the honour of working with so many of you over the past decade, and we want to celebrate. Here’s some of the fun we’ve lined up, with a lot more to come.

Speakers

The evening will include a series of short talks from leaders in the environmental community in Ottawa, followed by a keynote speech.

This year, our keynote speaker is Olivia Chow, Toronto mayoral candidate, distinguished professor of community organizing, and former municipal and federal politician. We look forward to learning more about Olivia’s experience training the next generation of community organizers, and consistent effort to make Toronto a greener and more dynamic city.

In addition to the keynote, our list of confirmed speakers include:

  • Janice Ashworth, General manager of the Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op (OREC)
  • Valérie Leloup, owner of NU Grocery, the first zero-waste grocery store in Ottawa
  • Mike De Souza, Managing Editor at the National Observer
  • Meredith Brown, Riverkeeper at Ottawa Riverkeeper
  • Hans Moor - Past President Bike Ottawa; Blogger "HansontheBike.com"
