Tree Fest Ottawa 2017 - Promote. Protect. Celebrate. Connect.

Tree Fest Ottawa's fall tree festival will be held on September 23rd and 24th in Brewer Park at Brewer Pond. Food, art, guided walks, music, workshops and much more. Ecology Ottawa will be there both days giving away FREE TREES, conduct a Nature Trivia game for kids, and on Sunday helping to plant the trees donated by the City of Ottawa.

All Day Activities

Large-Scale Photography Exhibit

PhotoSynthesis is a photography exhibit that features winning submissions of a Tree Fest Ottawa Photography Contest. The exhibit includes large-scale images and captions that express why trees are spectacular, resilient and provide benefits to our health and wellness of our city.

Play Activities:

Outdoor library and reading area, slackline, large loose parts playground and other outdoor games

Food/Drink and other Vendors:

  • Merry Dairy Frozen Custard (from 11:00 am - 4:00pm)
  • Apples, apple cider and beer nuts as well as Bridgehead coffee and tea
  • Tree and plant-themed henna art

Saturday, September 23rd

2:00 - 3:30pm - West African Hand Drumming Workshop with Kathy Armstrong from Baobab Community

3:00 - 4:30pm : Walk with Jaime Koebel from Indigenous Walks

10:00 am - 2:00pm - Flowering Rush Removal with Rideau Valley Conservation Authority and City Stream Watch

11:00 -11:45 am and 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm - Performance and Music Workshop with Arthur McGregor

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Guided Walk with Tree Enthusiast and Master Tree Identifier Owen Clarkin

1:00 pm - 2 or 2:30 pm - Meditative Arts: Doodling and Patterning Trees
