Are you passionate about environmental issues and comfortable communicating with others?
Ecology Ottawa is seeking self-motivated environmentalists and politically activated individuals to join our door-to-door canvass team!
Details
- Our outreach canvass raises awareness of environmental issues on the doorstep, and raises funds to support our projects and campaigns.
- The hours are weekdays from 4:00 – 9:00 pm, with the possibility of weekend work.
- Great summer/student job with flexible hours
- No experience necessary, all training provided
- Be aware of the necessity of grassroots organizations in making real policy change
- Want to make and see real change in how Ottawa handles climate change
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have excellent teamwork skills
- Able to stay outside for long periods of time
- Initiative and perseverance

Members of ECCC invited to webinar on incineration
On April 8, we invited members of City Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee (ECCC) to attend a webinar on incineration. This webinar is timely: Council is considering incineration as an option for dealing with Ottawa’s waste, since staff has warned Council that the Trail Road Landfill—which currently receives the majority of Ottawans’ garbage—will fill up soon.
