* Update: Thanks in part to our supporters, we published eight ecological planks. Please check them out! *
Prime Minister Mark Carney has called an election for April 28, 2025.
Elections are a key moment in the advocacy cycle: they offer an opportunity to not only elect thoughtful decision makers, but also to set the agenda for the upcoming term.
This federal election is no exception—particularly with the last decade recently being declared the hottest on record and extreme weather intensifying, but also with looming economic uncertainty. As we and our partners have argued, these conditions require decisive action that favours both sustainability and justice.
And so once again, we’d love to hear your thoughts. What should the next federal government do to advance sustainability? What ecological issues do you want addressed in Ottawa, or across the country?
We’ll aim to develop around 10 planks, and we’ll try to incorporate as many ecological categories as we can: energy, taxation, housing, habitat conservation, and so on.
If you have any ideas, please send them to [email protected]! And if you’d like to contribute to the campaign in other ways, please let us know. We’re also striking a research group to inform our election-related initiatives, for example.

Let’s work toward a sustainable and just future for our country!
