"By promoting mid-rise density, and discouraging urban sprawl, we can preserve Ottawa's tree canopy. Every new development, e.g., the TEWIN project, that destroys hundreds of trees at the edge of the city, should be halted. We should also implement a flowering tree festival similar to those of Washington DC, Vancouver, and Toronto, to create a financial interest in preserving and maintaining trees.”
