“I recently put in a motion to ask for an inventory of private drains to be undertaken. Private drains are in residents' backyards and service a number of homes. I believe the City needs to catalogue all these and ditches, and ensure proper maintenance and not leave it up to the resident. For extreme heat, I put forward a motion this year to develop an air conditioner program for low income individuals that is not dependent on a medical condition, and this was approved and implemented this year. These are small examples of the many things that need to be done, but I am committed to continuing to advance work on assisting residents and investing in better infrastructure."
