“To help Ottawa achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, I would prioritize large-scale building retrofits, the electrification of transportation, the expansion of public transit, and increased use of renewable energy. The City should require higher energy-efficiency standards for new buildings, support EV adoption with more charging infrastructure, reduce emissions from waste through renewable natural gas production, and provide transparent annual progress reporting. Success will depend on strong partnerships with residents, businesses, and other levels of government, along with clear accountability and sustained investment.”
