Bring your potted orphan saplings to us at the Experimental Farm! Drop off your orphan saplings at the red barn on Prince of Wales Drive. If the gate is closed, feel free to leave them at the gate and they will be well taken care of.
We are looking for any species of saplings, and can be as small as 15cm or as large as 200cm! Pot them and bring them over to us. Feel free to donate any of your unused plant pots of various sizes as well!

Ecology Ottawa and Tree Ottawa each had a table with information and able volunteers. We signed up a few people on the renewable city petition with the help of Judy, Alok and Eva. Tree Ottawa also had great conversations with the public thanks to Lauren and Fan.

Deadline for the City’s Community Environmental Projects Grant Program is June 1, 2016
Are you looking for an opportunity to put your environmental ideas into action? The City of Ottawa is now accepting applications for the 2016 Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP).
CEPGP provides funding to community groups and non-profit organizations in Ottawa to undertake environmental stewardship projects that improve stormwater management, enhance and protect natural systems, or reduce environmental impact.

Ecology Ottawa wants to drive home the message that solving climate change requires two things; advances in the green economy but also the phase out of fossil fuels.

Green Eggs’N’Protest: Rallying Against TransCanada Pipeline Talk at Ottawa Chamber of Commerce on Eve of Earth Day
The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce should not be hosting a talk by a TransCanada executive the day before Earth Day. Stefan Baranski, TransCanada’s Ontario Director, is scheduled to present at the “Eggs’N”Icons” breakfast series Thursday morning April 21.
In celebration of Earth Day 2016, Zibi will be giving away 2000 FREE trees on Saturday, April 23rd from 10am to 5pm at the Zibi sales centre, 3 Eddy St, Gatineau.
