Anything Else: Is there anything else about your environmental platform or priorities for Ottawa that you'd like Ecology Ottawa and Ottawa residents to know?

Peter J. Karwacki

"I'd rather be the councillor who tells you honestly that a pledge has no enforcement mechanism yet than be the one who tells you it's handled when it isn't."

Rawlson King

"Environmental policy and social equity are inseparable in the communities I represent. Lower-income households are less able to adapt to extreme heat or flooding. Racialized communities have historically borne a disproportionate share of environmental burdens while receiving disproportionately small environmental investment. These realities ground everything I do on climate and environment, and they will continue to do so in the next term.

My record reflects that commitment: service on the Environment and Climate Change Committee and the Ottawa Climate Action Fund board; opposition to provincial legislation threatening Ottawa's cycling network; support for the updated Idling Control By-law, the Bird Friendly City certification, and the High Performance Development Standard; over 270 trees planted in Ward 13; expanded park waste diversion across the ward; and a consistent push for stormwater resilience in every infrastructure renewal project. Environmental ambition must be matched by funded, delivered commitments, not deferred aspirations. That is the standard I will hold myself and this Council to."
