Join us for an unforgettable evening at our annual Eco Gala, a highly anticipated celebration of local environmental action in our nation’s capital. Our first in-person gathering since 2019, the Eco Gala will be held at the iconic National Gallery where art, city, and nature converge. Ecology Ottawa will bring together all in the Ottawa community who champion climate action, protection of nature, and people power.
We're thrilled to introduce our MC for the evening, Joanne Chianello, an acclaimed and award-winning journalist! Our distinguished keynote speaker for the evening is Dr. Ingrid Waldron, a renowned figure in the field of environmental justice and author of There’s Something In The Water: Environmental Racism in Indigenous & Black Communities, the book that inspired the documentary directed by Elliot Page. Dr. Waldron will take centre stage to discuss environmental equity and the importance of collective local action, and will be joined by local speakers and performers, to be announced.
Building relationships and strengthening connections are at the heart of the Eco Gala. Connect with like-minded individuals, share ideas, and forge lasting relationships with those who share your passion for environmental action. The evening will include a speaker programme, silent auction, raffle, and dance party.
Kindly eat dinner beforehand. The reception-style event will promote meeting and mingling with all guests. Canapés and beverages will be on offer from the wonderful folks at River Lounge.
Don't miss out on this extraordinary night of inspiration, connection, and celebration. Join us at the Eco Gala, and let's continue to make a difference in our local and global ecosystems. Whether your passion lies in climate action, protection of nature, sustainable transit, walkable neighbourhoods, building people power, or all of the above, we welcome everyone!
