GOT Parks?

Have you heard of GOT Parks? Get Out To (GOT) Parks is a joint initiative of the Canadian Parks Council and the Child & Nature Alliance of Canada. Their ultimate goal is to provide an online destination for young people to learn about Canada’s National, Provincial, and Territorial parks and to encourage Canada’s youth to get outside and experience parks firsthand!

Random Patterns- Photo Exhibit of Impact of Emerald Ash Borer

An exhibition of new works by Michael Ashley entitled, Random Patterns, which will be opening at La Petite Mort Gallery on Friday 28 November 2014 from 7-10 pm. The images in this collection are macro photographs of trees killed by the Emerald Ash Borer beetle and include an exploration of the patterns that are created by the beetle and how we see patterns.

Bronson Audit shows how unsafe walking can be!

A group of walkers hit Bronson this weekend to closely examine the walking, cycling and driving conditions on this thoroughfare between the 417 and the canal.

Utility poles, commercial driveways and the lack of a barrier between walker and vehicle, made participants feel unsafe as traffic hit speeds of 80 km/h passing very close to sidewalks.

Soup Ottawa: Micro-grant Participatory Dinner

Soup Ottawa is having an event this Wednesday night (6-9pm) at St. Anthony's Banquet Hall in Little Italy.

It's $10 to participate in a dinner event that grants local community projects in Ottawa.

The event will showcase a line-up of six amazing presenters, each with a unique and creative community project.

You'll have a chance to hear each of their pitches throughout the evening, and will get to vote for your favourite!

Glashan Public School Mural Launch Celebration

Glashan Public School invites you to the launch celebration for two fabulous new murals! The large-scale digital murals will be installed on the north-side of the school building along Arlington Ave and are a part of the Glashan Schoolyard Greening Project revitalization.

Stittsville Energy East Movie Night

Convent Glen/Orléans Wood Community Meeting

On December 3rd Ecology Ottawa, in co-operation with the Convent Glen/Orléans Wood Community Association, is hosting a community meeting and info-session about Tree Ottawa, our initiative to plant 1 million trees in Ottawa as a gift to Canada for our nation’s 150^th birthday. We’d like to hear from you: what parks and properties need replanting? How can this initiative help to further green your community? Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a city to plant a million trees. Come out for a night of community thinking, brainstorming, and help be part of the solution!
