EcoFest is a celebration of Ottawa’s strong, vibrant and diverse environmental community. Ecology Ottawa has had the honour of working with so many of you over the past decade, and we want to celebrate. Here’s some of the fun we’ve lined up, with a lot more to come.
Tree Ottawa has been working with artist Jean Bridge surrounding the Canupy: Achilles Shadow art installation that is part of the Canadensis: Beyond the Edge Artists’ Garden installation at the Experimental Farms for the past two years. This art installation, composed of orphan trees that Jean and Tree Ottawa collected across Ottawa for the last two years, is coming to a close. We need your help to ensure that all of these trees go to new homes in your backyard. To see what Tree Ottawa and Canadensis have done in the past click here and here!
Many people that we have met over the summer while conducting our Tree Giveaway have asked the same question: do we know where they can get a larger tree for free?? Well, we have an answer for you! Canupy: Achilles Shadow is an art installation at the Experimental Farms (map below) which has housed orphan trees for the past two years and this is your opportunity to take one home. Not only will they be larger and more hardy, as they have been in the ground for two years, but they are also celebrity trees as they have been part of this art installation enjoyed by many!
